Editorial Board Charter
- Composition: The committee is composed of members from the academic community, as well as a representative of the CNRS communications department, who serves as an ex officio member. New members are co-opted by the existing editorial board.
- Members of the editorial board acknowledge that the website laradioactivite.com, through its French and English versions, constitutes a scientific knowledge base made available to the general public in order to provide reliable and objective information on which readers can confidently rely.
- In this regard, members of the editorial board undertake to publish on the websites laradioactivite.com and laradioactivite.eu.com only reliable content based on verified sources, scientifically rigorous and written in an impartial manner so that it can be fully understood by a broad audience. The committee ensures the clarity of the information as well as its illustration with appropriate images.
- The editorial board ensures that all integrated content relates to the field of radioactivity and its applications, ionizing radiation, as well as research in particle physics and nuclear physics.
- The editorial board reserves the right to refuse any contribution that does not comply with the ethical principles and editorial charter of the laradioactivite.com website, or that falls outside its editorial scope. Accordingly, no new contribution or modification may be published without its approval.
- The editorial board excludes any content or treatment that does not rely on a rigorous scientific approach or that falls outside the editorial scope of the website. Published articles are factual, scientifically supported and based on the current state of knowledge, without personal opinions or extrapolation. Any mention of individuals or institutions must be formulated in a non-defamatory and non-discriminatory manner.
- The editorial board ensures respect for the intellectual property of the textual, graphic, iconographic and video content used. Only authorized and properly credited content is published. New articles must also be signed.
- When content is generated, in whole or in part, using artificial intelligence tools, this use must be clearly and visibly indicated, without prejudice to the scientific responsibility of the authors.
- Each author retains full ownership of the economic rights to their writings but grants laradioactivite.com a non-exclusive license to use them for an indefinite period and for all possible formats (exhibitions, books, multimedia works), in France and internationally, for educational and non-commercial purposes.
- Any commercial use of the writings must be subject to prior agreement by the authors and must involve the signing of a remunerated rights-transfer contract.
- The editorial board keeps a record of the modifications made to the website’s content. For this purpose, the different versions of the articles are archived in a shared storage space, and a change log is maintained and made available.
- The editorial board performs its duties on a voluntary basis and receives no remuneration for this activity. It benefits from logistical and financial support from the communications department of CNRS Nuclear and Particles.
- The website laradioactivite.com is a collective work created for the purpose of informing the public and has no commercial vocation. Consequently, members of the editorial board refrain from any form of advertising through the website or any other misuse for personal purposes or for remuneration from a third party.
- As laradioactivite.com is a website hosted and managed by the Institute of Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics (CNRS), the responsibility of the Institute and, more broadly, that of CNRS may be engaged in the event of legal action. The editorial board therefore exercises particular vigilance regarding the content published and works closely with the Institute’s communications department. The content is subject to final validation by this department, and the CNRS management reserves the right to request the modification or removal of any published content.
- This charter is signed by each person joining the editorial board of the laradioactivite.com website. It is published online on the website.
