Much used to perform nuclear medicine scans, gamma camera detects gamma photons emitted into the body by a radiopharmaceutical product. the camera consists of a lead collimators that select the direction of gamma rays, a scintillator converting their energy into low energy photons and an electronic device detecting these photons. From the data collected, a computer reconstruct the origin of the emission of the gamma rays.
