Elementary electric charge (e)

The possession of an electrical charge is allows the electrons and protons to interact through electric and magnetic forces. It also gives them the ability to emit or absorb electromagnetic waves or photons, ranging from light and ultraviolet photons to X-rays and gamma-rays.

All electric charges are multiples of an elementary charge e, whose value is extremely small : 1,6 x 10-19 Coulomb.
