Alpha rays or particles (α)

Heavy unstable nuclei decay by emitting nuclei of helium atom called alpha particles (α) Alpha particles are constituted by two protons and two neutrons. Among the light nuclei, this assemblage has a remarkable stability that makes it emitted during radioactive decay.
