Scintigraphy

Medical examination based on the injection to a patient of a radionuclide or a radiopharmaceutical molecule marked by a radioactive gamma emitter that attaches preferably on an organ or tissue. This fixation allows  to see the status or monitor the functioning of that organ or tissue. The detection of gamma rays is performed with a gamma – camera.
