Low and Intermediate Level Short Lived Waste (FMAVC in french) contain mainly radioactive elements whose half-lives are below 30 years. Their radioactive hazards diminish relatively rapidly with time, allowing for a surface disposal with an adequate monitoring. LILW-SL-Waste, which represents around 80 % in volume of radioactive waste, come from objects not naturally radioactive but which have been contaminated.
